Michael iqyax^  Livingston PhD

Dr. Michael Livingston is the cultural heritage specialist at Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association and a captain with the Alaska State Defense Force.  Mike has worked for 25 years as a police officer and has investigated thousands of domestic violence crimes.  Mike began investigating homicides in Alaska in 1978 and worked for the Anchorage Police Department for 20 years with several units such as robbery, crimes against children, and the major crimes unit including serial killers and cold case homicides.  Mike focuses his research on crimes against the Unangax̂ people of the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands and has published the Unangax̂ MMIW Map 1741 - 2020 , the Unangax̂ MMIP Preliminary Report 1959 - 2021, and War Crimes Against the Unangax̂ People 1942 - 1945.  Mike also serves as affiliate faculty at Alaska Pacific University and the University of Alaska as well as principal investigator with the National Science Foundation.  Mike holds two masters degrees (psychology and education) and a doctoral degree in education.
