Deb Lal became a Zontian in 2008. She has held various board positions and has attended many Zonta gatherings. The training and leadership development skills that she received from fellow Zontians, Conventions, Conferences and Workshops influenced her professional life and other volunteering ventures she has been involved in. Deb’s Zonta leadership roles at the club level have included Director, Vice President, President, Foundation President and Club Treasurer. Her district positions have included Area 2 Vice Director and District 8 Conference Chair. She is current serving as District 8 Lt. Governor for the 2020-2022 biennium.
She was a member of the Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area for 8 years and the past 5 years she has been a member of the Zonta Club of South Puget Sound. Married to her husband, Arvin, for 25 years with 4 children and 7 grandchildren. In late 2016, they relocated to Anderson Island, Washington, a small island located in the South Puget Sound and are enjoying island living.
