Candidate selection rules and women representation in electoral politics in Tanzania
This paper is an attempt to examine candidate selection rules and practices and how they affect women visibility in competitive politics. Its initial argument is that political party candidate selection rules, procedures and practices are gender insensitive thereby contributing to women underrepresentation in electoral positions in Tanzania
