Anouar El Younssi is an assistant professor of Arabic studies at Oxford College of Emory University. His scholarly work explores the wave of literary innovation in Arabic literature, with a focus on Morocco and the Maghreb.

Voices of Dissent/Reform in Islam in North America: A Movement that Keeps Growing

 

A number of Muslim and ex-Muslim voices have of late been calling for an honest, open, and responsible conversation about Islam, particularly the sensitive subject regarding links between Islam and violence. They stress that this conversation is long overdue, and should not be suppressed—notwithstanding Trumpism and its anti-Muslim rhetoric.
