Oil in Colonial Nigeria: Lessons from Iran Learned and Unnoticed
Evidence from oil pioneering in 1950s colonial Nigeria is compared with reasons for BP’s dramatic expulsion by Iranian nationalists. Results show successes collaborating with nationalist elites, but also indicate why racialized practices persisted.
