Sophie Koh

Sophie is one of the national optometrist advisors at Optometry Australia's Monday to Friday national help-desk. She assists with professional, workplace, medico-legal or clinical questions from optometrists across the country. She started her graduate career in the Northern Territory and has had broad experience working in public health and corporate settings across metropolitan, rural and outback Australia. She's also had extensive experience working in ophthalmology teams and training eye nurses in East Timor, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Sophie graduated from the University of Melbourne and is therapeutically qualified. She is passionate about public health and Indigenous eye health. She has been a clinical educator of university students for more than 10 years and an OCANZ examiner for overseas optometrists. She is passionate about empowering students and colleagues to improve their knowledge and skills so they can play a wider role in improving the health and wellbeing of our underprivileged communities locally and overseas.
