James Russell, RN-BC, MBA, CVAHP

James Russell is has been a Registered Nurse for more than 30 years, with his career split into thirds: Critical Care, Psychiatry, and Value Analysis.  He’s worked in both for-profit and academic institutions and has been at all levels of leadership.  Since 2008, his focus has been building Clinical Value Analysis departments in academic medical centers.  His current role, at MD Anderson Cancer Center, is to create a department that enhances quality, safety, and efficiency in all non-labor cost expenditures, including, but not limited to:  Supplies and Implants, Equipment, Purchased Services, Pharmaceuticals, Laboratory, and Radiology domains.  His core competence combines enhancing clinical outcomes and fiscal efficiency, through utilization analyses and change impact strategies.
