Mr. Peterson has over 20 years of experience in specializing in Retiree Medical, EGWP/Part D Rx carve-out plans and providing benefits consulting and administrative services to ERISA Plans, Corporations, Municipalities, Universities, and Taft Hartley Plans. He has held positions ranging from Account Executive to Retiree Benefits Consultant and is now one of Benistar's team of Retiree Healthcare Specialists. Currently, Mr. Peterson is a Regional VP with BENISTAR Admin Services, Inc.
Mr. Peterson and Benistar have experience customizing group retiree plans, managing national programs, product development, and maintenance of Retiree Benefit Trusts. Since the advent of Medicare Part D, Mr. Peterson and BENISTAR have had a particular focus in creating group Retiree Rx solutions that will maximize government subsidies while maintaining complete flexibility in plan design for employers.
Before joining Benistar, Mr. Peterson started his career with The Hartford Insurance Company where he worked with brokers, consultants and TPA's to develop Special Risk Programs and Senior Benefit Plans. He also held a similar position with Transamerica Affinity Services with more of a national focus. Mr. Peterson is Past President of the Chicago (West Suburban) Chapter and now currently the President/National Board of the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network (WEB) and is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and on NAHU’s Medicare Advisory Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Quinnipiac University (Hamden, CT).
