Tim Blakely

Tim is the Senior herbalist/Aromatherapist/educator for Frontier Co-op/Aura Cacia and has worked for Frontier Co-op since the early 1990s. He has over 40 years of experience in the natural health profession. He has been land manager, teacher, and co-owner of the California School of Herbal Studies, land manager and herbalist for Herb Pharm, and the founding director of the National Center for the Preservation of Medicinal Herbs. He was on the board of directors of United Plant Savers for 12 years. He has set up farms for companies in several locations around the US for the production of medicinal herbs and spices.

Tim is the author of Medicinal Herbs in the Garden, Field and Marketplace, a contributing author to Planting the Future, author of essential oil books on Vetiver in Madagascar as well as Ylang Ylang, and the author of many articles on essential oils, herbs, spices, and sustainability. He teaches and travels extensively for Frontier Co-op/Aura Cacia doing educational presentations, working with issues of supply and sustainability, and working with smaller villages, co-ops, and producers of essential oils, spices, and tea. Tim has done several USAID projects focusing on working with producers to improve production and storage skills and their overall production capabilities.
