NAHU Antitrust Statement
Associations are subject to strict scrutiny under antitrust laws because an association is, by its nature, a group of competitors joined together for a common business purpose. The antitrust laws require companies to make certain decisions by themselves, not in conjunction with competitors. Therefore, associations and their members must proceed with extreme caution in certain areas of activity to ensure against violation of the antitrust laws. Discussions of current or future prices or commissions and refusing to deal with or boycotting any insurance carrier are among a number of areas specifically prohibited by the antitrust laws.

5Star Life is excited to sponsor the 2021 INsure conference this year. Please make sure to visit our booth to learn more about 5Star Life.

5Star Life Insurance Company

5Star Life Insurance Company (5Star Life) has a proud and unique heritage as a related enterprise of the Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA). AFBA was established in 1947 to promote the general welfare and economic interests of military families during war and peace. At that time, servicemembers could not purchase life insurance that would pay a benefit in the case of death in a war zone.

Founded in 1996, 5Star Life is AFBA’s principal underwriter for member insurance products. This close carrier relationship allows AFBA to continue to stand by our country’s armed forces and first responders providing access to life insurance and other member benefits in both war and peace.

Through the years, 5Star Life has grown and evolved with market opportunities - successfully expanding into other segments including the employer group and worksite benefits markets. This history informs our deep sense of service and provides us with unwavering dedication to all of our partners.

Which Type of Medicare Plan is Right for Your Client?

Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C)

These all-in-one plans combine Part A, B and D to give you more than just Original Medicare. Most of our Medicare Advantage plans include coverage for prescription drugs, dental, vision, and hearing aids. They also offer benefits such as SilverSneakers fitness memberships, money for over-the-counter items, and more.

Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)

Medicare Part D covers prescription drugs, something Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover. Part D is important if you take regular medications for a condition such as high blood pressure.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans

While Original Medicare covers medical expenses like hospital stays, lab tests, and outpatient care, you still have deductibles, copays, and coinsurance to pay on your own. Medicare Supplement plans, also called Medigap plans, cover what Original Medicare doesn’t.

Medicare Dental and Vision Coverage

Original Medicare doesn’t come with dental or vision coverage, but Medicare Advantage plans often include routine dental and vision care. If you want more coverage, there are add-on dental and vision packages for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans.
