Dr. Howard earned both his MD and PhD from Duke University. He completed an internal medicine internship at Duke before joining the diagnostic radiology residency training program at the University of Virginia. He returned to Duke to complete a Nuclear Radiology fellowship and then completed a vascular interventional fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. He returned to join the faculty at Duke in 2013.
