Lauren Nash

Lauren Nash is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service in New Orleans/Baton Rouge. Lauren arrived in mid-September 2020 so her introduction to the area was multiple hurricanes! Lauren recently came from Tallahassee, FL where she worked for two years and was working when category 5 Hurricane Michael made landfall in their forecast area. Before that, she spent four years in Huntsville, AL working many severe weather and tornado outbreaks and she started her career in the New York City forecast office for the four years before that. She is passionate about getting NWS information out to everyone, especially in terms of social media and public outreach. She grew up in Kansas City, MO so severe weather has always been a passion to her but over the years, reducing hurricane deaths and increasing hurricane risk understanding is something that has become very important to her.
