Steve Singer

Steven R. Singer is Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Harvard University’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is responsible for communications strategy and reputation management, as well as for media relations, marketing, content development, patient and staff communications, and internal and external web sites for the Institute and its grassroots fundraising arm, the Jimmy Fund. Singer previously served as Director of Communications and Public Affairs and Adjunct Lecturer at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has also worked as a campaign press secretary, a press secretary in the U.S. House of Representatives, and a freelance White House advance man. Singer is member of the Board of the Pan Massachusetts Challenge and chairs the WGBH Corporate Executive Council. Previously, he served as Public Relations and Public Affairs Chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ (AAMC) Group on Institutional Advancement, and as Chair of the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Public Affairs Network. He has a BA from Colby College and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
