
With over 20 years of fundraising experience, most of which has been focused in academic institutions and healthcare, Caroline A. Pereira serves as the newly appointed Interim Associate Vice Chancellor of UCI Health Advancement. In her recent role as executive director of development in cancer programs, she led the most successful fundraising year on record for cancer in FY 2018, personally raising over $9 million. In 2020, her team raised $20 million for the Medical Center Irvine-Newport, one of the largest priorities in the Brilliant Future campaign. Prior to her leadership roles at UCI Health, Caroline worked at the University of Toronto in Canada where she fundraised major and principal gifts from an international donor audience, supporting various areas of academic medicine. Caroline earned her MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo in Canada. As a results-driven leader, Caroline is passionate about advancing academic medicine by matching each philanthropist’s interests with leading physician-scientists and care providers fueled by the notion that research-driven healthcare can change the world.
