Amy  Deshler

Amy Deshler leads the fundraising teams for the Duke Cancer Institute and Duke Children’s and serves on the Vice President’s Cabinet where she provides strategic direction for Duke Health Development and Alumni Affairs. Prior to her arrival at Duke, Amy had almost 20 years’ experience with Mayo Clinic, where she served as the Associate Chair, Department of Development, Mayo Clinic and was responsible for leading the Senior Principal Gift Officer Team, International Program and seven volunteer Leadership Councils. She has over twenty years of volunteer experience working with a variety of fundraising organizations including serving on the Board of Directors for The Gift of Life Transplant House, the American Cancer Society and the YMCA Capital Campaign. Amy received B.S. degrees in Social Work and Corrections from Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN graduating magna cum laude and M.S.W. degree in Health and Medical Care Services from The University of North Carolina, Advanced Standing Program, Chapel Hill, NC.
