Michelle Cohen is the Executive Director of Development at Duke Cancer Institute and Duke Health Development and Alumni Affairs. For Duke Cancer Institute (DCI), Michelle leads the major gift fundraising team in raising philanthropic support for cancer research and priorities across the DCI. Michelle is responsible for building and sustaining the major gift program by forging strong partnerships with a dedicated Board of Advisors, Duke’s physician-scientists and clinical teams, and grateful patient families among others in pursuit of the DCI mission of furthering cancer care and research. Michelle joined Duke Cancer Institute in February 2014 as Senior Director of Development, and in April 2019, she was promoted to her current role of Executive Director of Development. Prior to joining Duke Cancer Institute, Michelle held major gift fundraising positions at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Duke Department of Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Pennsylvania State University.
