Dr. Paul B. Freeman graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1974. He is an AAO Low Vision Diplomate and a Fellow of COVD. Dr. Freeman is in private practice in Western Pennsylvania, where he provides low vision rehabilitation services. He is also involved in issues related to driving and is part of AARP Smart Driver training videos, AARP Driver Safety. Dr. Freeman served on the COVD International Examination and Certification Board from 2012-2015 and became Chair of our annual meeting in 2016. He lectures nationally and internationally and has published extensively. He served as the editor of Optometry, Journal of the American Optometric Association from February 1999 to June 2012 and is presently co-Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier eye care portal PracticeUpdate, Editor-in-Chief of Optometric Clinical Practice, and is on the Editor’s Advisory Board of COVD’s journal Vision Development and Rehabilitation.
