
Juliet Machado, COVT earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a Pre-Med minor from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1998 and completed her Certification as a Vision Therapist through the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) in 2017 after practicing for 14 years. She has been a member of COVD since 2005 and a Paraoptometric member of the American Optometric Association since 2013. Through COVD, she as a therapist certification mentor, serves on the Vision Therapist Education Subcommittee and in 2020 contributed a blog to Mindsight - from COVD.org. She has been actively involved with several Oregon Brain Injury Support Groups since 2013. Juliet has participated twice in Practical Teachings and Hands-On VT Techniques facilitated by Dr. Robert Sanet giving her a significant opportunity to develop and expand upon her thinking as a therapist. Juliet has lectured on the connection between vision and learning, vision and special populations, vision rehabilitation following brain injury; has presented a 3-day comprehensive course on vision therapy practice and management; regularly lectures through Pacific University’s Graduate Program to students completing their master’s degree in education; and has presented and facilitated for the COVD Therapist Webinar Program. Her free time is spent with her husband and daughter exploring nature, dancing, reading, participating in the Theater Arts, and soaking up the magnificence of life.
