Jennifer Shambrook

Dr. Shambrook is the director of Sponsored Programs at the University of Central Florida in Orlando Florida. She has over her 30 years in Research Administration and is a perennial speaker.She has a PhD in Public Health in Health Promotion and Education. Her research interest is occupational stress and its impact on health behavior in Research Administrators and Research Administrator demographics. She is the author of the longitudinal Research Administrator Stress Perception Surveys, also known as RASPerS. These data have most recently been featured in articles on Self Care of the Research Administrator in NCURA Magazine.Her published work on Research Administrator demographics garnered the Rod Rose best article award from the Journal of Research Administration (2011) and best poster award for the SRAI Symposium (2015). Her work is frequently cited by other scholars of the field of Research Administration as a profession. The demographics disparity poster she presented with her co-authors today at the 2020 NCURA Annual conference placed second and resulted in subsequent invited articles and conference presentations.She is a faculty member of the UCF Master in Research Administration program and also serves as Chair of the UCF MRA program’s advisory board. She has served NCURA as Region III Chair, member of the NCURA PDC, DRA Traveling Faculty, and Editor of the Research Management Review. Her greatest NCURA honor is performing as small percussionist in NCURA's band Sole Source and the No Cost Extensions.
