George Paul

Dr. George Paul is a Senior Agricultural Engineer with 17 years of experience in field measurements and numerical modeling of soil, vegetation, and hydrologic processes. He has been at the forefront of advancements in modeling spatio-temporal aspects of soil-water-plant-environment processes and their interactions with changing climate. As an expert in evapotranspiration (ET) research, he has incorporated improvements to major remote-sensing-based surface energy balance algorithms. He developed the daily actual evapotranspiration (ETa) datasets for Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and California, which are extensively used for water management and ecological applications. His achievements include impactful projects on irrigation performance, crop modeling, soil-water conservation, rainfall-runoff modeling, evapotranspiration modeling, spatial biophysical modeling, climate change impact-adaptation modeling, and drought-flood studies. Over the course of his career, he has delivered numerous talks, published in journals, served on proposal review committees, and led scientific communities.
