Frank Torres is the Director of Public Policy in Microsoft’s Office of Responsible AI, part of the company’s Technology and Corporate Responsibility group. Frank helps to develop, advocate for, and work to implement, Microsoft’s public policy positions on the responsible development and deployment of AI. Previously, Frank spent 17 years in the company's US Government Affairs (USGA) team in Washington, DC, where he was Director of Consumer Affairs and Sr. Policy Counsel. In that role, Frank led USGA's privacy, lawful access, and AI policy efforts. Frank also has been responsible for the company's relationship with privacy, consumer, and other civil society advocates. Frank is a member of the Board of Public Knowledge and Pro Bono Net. Frank served as the Executive Secretary of the Partnership on AI. Prior to joining Microsoft Frank was Sr. Policy Counsel at Consumers Union. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and The George Washington Law School.
