Melissa Armstrong

Melissa Armstrong has served as the Director of the award-winning Interdisciplinary Global Programs at Northern Arizona University for eight years. Ms. Armstrong specializes in promoting diversity in global learning experiences and in the ecology profession. Before moving to NAU, Melissa worked for 13 years with the Ecological Society of America (ESA) on an inclusion program. With ESA, Ms. Armstrong spent a year in Chiapas Mexico, housed by El Colegio de La Frontera Sur, working in partnership with the ecological societies of Latin American countries on organizing an ecology federation to unite efforts on large-scale ecological research. Melissa holds a Master’s degree in Ecology, a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and will receive a second bachelor’s degree in Spanish from NAU in May 2021.
