2020 is Great! Permitting Update for the J.R. Simplot Company

2020 has been a very productive permitting year for the J.R. Simplot Company. Lori will briefly describe the 12-year process that resulted in a records of decision (RODs) for the Dairy Syncline mine which includes a Forest Service land exchange, a BLM land sale, and approval of a 30-year mine plan. BLM and Forest Service RODs were also issued for the East Smoky mine expansion at Smoky Canyon. Most recently a ROD for a BLM land exchange adjacent to the Don Plant in Pocatello was issued to facilitate continued processing of the phosphate ore to agricultural input products.
