The Road to Restoration: Permitting the Stibnite Gold Project
The United States Forest Service released the Stibnite Gold Project Draft Environmental Impact Statement in August 2020, marking a major milestone for a project that has been more than a decade in development and four years in environmental review. Much work remains before all appropriate federal, state, and local permits and approvals are in place and Midas Gold's vision for redeveloping and restoring this historic mining district can be initiated. This update will include a look at the project’s refinements and how they impact ongoing permitting efforts.
About the Presenter
Dale is Midas Gold Idaho’s permitting manager. Prior to joining Midas Gold, He spent 18 years in environmental consulting providing mine planning, permitting and operations services for mines in Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, California, and Montana. Dale is pleased to be associated with the experienced, professional, and visionary team that is dedicated to redeveloping and restoring the Stibnite Mining District and the east fork of the south fork of the Salmon River. He holds a BS in geology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an MS in geology from Boise State University.
