Opal Leeman Bartzis, Ed.D. is Executive Director of Education Abroad at Michigan State. She worked at the Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University for 20 years in a variety of positions, including VP for academic affairs. She earned her Ed.D. in adult, higher and community education from Ball State, and MA in history and BA in German from Butler and studied abroad in Switzerland, Russia and Lithuania. She is working with the MSU community on incorporating SDGs into education abroad programming and considering demonstrated care for the SDGs as part of international partner vetting.
