John E. McWeeney, Jr.

John E. McWeeney, Jr., is president and CEO of the New Jersey Bankers Association. McWeeney joined NJBankers in 2007 as president and chief executive officer after a nearly 28-year career with Bank of America and its predecessor, Fleet Bank.
 
McWeeney serves as the chairman of Bankers Cooperative Group, Inc. (BCG) the licensed insurance brokerage facility of NJBankers; as chairman of NJBankers Business Services, the for-profit subsidiary of NJBankers created to provide members with access to quality products and services that will enhance their competitive standing; and the NJBankers Charitable Foundation which provides assistance to educational programs for Veterans and their dependents in addition to other worthwhile causes such as financial literacy initiatives.
 
He serves on several boards of directors including the boards of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce which has more than 1,200 member companies and associations representing 500,000 employees and billions of dollars in annual revenue; the Center for Financial Training (CFT) which offers continuing education for banks and related financial services companies; and the board of CRA Partners which helps banks fulfill their Community Reinvestment requirements by supporting programs that protect and enhance the lives of senior housing residents.
 
McWeeney holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Stonehill College and a Master of Business Administration from Boston College.
