Tonia Gibson

Tonia Gibson, a McREL International managing consultant, works with schools and districts across the US to develop and enact sustainable plans for improving the professional practices of teachers and school leaders. Ms. Gibson began her career in Australia, teaching all grades from K-6. As a lead teacher, she focused on curriculum, assessment, and implementation, as well as developing effective practices and protocols for effective professional learning communities. As an assistant principal, she focused on developing the capacities of teachers and school leaders to improve student engagement and curiosity, student achievement, and teacher confidence. She is the co-author of "Unstuck: How Curiosity, Peer Coaching, and Teaming Can Change Your School" (ASCD 2018) and "Learning That Sticks: A Brain-Based Model for K-12 Instructional Design and Delivery" (ASCD 2020)."
