Dr. Marcus Conyers, an author of 20 books, including Developing Growth Mindsets, is a research supervisor for the Ph.D. in Professional Practice: Psychological Perspectives at the Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University. He is a global leadership and educational consultant who has worked in 30 countries on five continents and shared his innovative programs with 100,000 leaders, trainers, and educators, reaching millions of learners on five continents. As part of the process of researching and writing Developing Growth Mindsets, he ran his first Marine Corps Marathon and Destin 50K Ultra in 2019. He is co-developer of the world's first doctoral minor in Brain-Based Leadership, as well as the first Educational Specialist and Master of Science degrees (BrainSMART® Programs), focused on applied Mind, Brain, and Education science with Nova Southeastern University. He is the developer of the BrainSMART® Leadership and Education programs and is an affiliate member of the Institute of Coaching (IOC) at McLean Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
Marcus founded the learning, development, and coaching group, BrainSMART, in 1998 with the mission of improving human performance by connecting cognitive psychology and neuroscience to executive and educational practice. He has worked with a broad range of organizations in his 40 years career, including, Singapore Teachers Union, South African Principles Association, Florida Department of Education, Sony, Kraft, Ford, Air Canada, Ernst and Young, Phillip Morris, Studiofibre, AT&T, Grants of St. James, Joint Special Operations University, CPC, Canadian Security Intelligence Service, Florida Power, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Rollins College, and Florida Atlantic University.
