Georgina Aye and Shawnette Bryant are experienced educators with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and retaining teachers. They met while working in Baltimore City Public Schools and have worked together on numerous projects to develop teachers, increase teacher retention, and achieve double digits student achievement gains. Georgina Aye is a career changer who has used her business skills coupled with dynamic pedagogy and professional development to effectively impact classroom level, school level, and district level performance. She has spent 16 years serving in high needs urban schools as a teacher, PD coordinator, assistant principal, principal, and district literacy liaison. Shawnette Bryant has more than a decade’s experience in education as a teacher, curriculum writer, coach, mentor, and consultant.
Georgina has a particular focus in Blended Learning and believes that effective literacy practice, coaching and blending learning are the recipe for student success. She has successfully improved classroom data and schoolwide data by double digits using these models. Shawnette is a strong advocate for creating a culture of learning in the classroom and helping teachers and students build strong relationships. Shawnette founded Teachers LEAD, a non-profit organization, in 2019 to dedicate more personalized coaching and mentoring to teachers to help increase teacher retention in urban education.
