Karthik Vaideeswaran leads the Delivery Devices and Connected Solutions (DDCS) R&D teams focused on Primary (drug-contact) and Secondary Packaging Systems, the integrated Surface Science and Materials Engineering teams, and the end-to-end Delivery Device and Container Closure Development Program Management functions for Drug-Device Combination-Products at Eli Lilly and Company. Karthik earned his (5-year integrated) M.Sc. degree in Polymer Science from the University of Madras (India) in 1993, his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1997 and completed his post-doctoral fellowship in Surface Science at the University of Cincinnati in 1998. Additionally, Karthik earned an MBA from the University of Kentucky in 2004 while he has employed full-time. Karthik has gained significant industrial experience of 20+ years in the areas of new product development, polymer engineering, advanced materials technologies, program management and large technical team and technology management while working at Lexmark International, Saint-Gobain Corporation, Celanese Corporation and now, Eli Lilly and Company – in diverse roles encompassing increasing technical and people responsibilities.
