Laura Ryder


Laura Ryder CPDT-KA CTDI Cert IV dog behavioural training is an internationally-certified professional dog trainer and Delta CGC behavioural dog trainer, with 20 years’ experience working at Morley Vetcentre in Perth, Western Australia. Laura has presented to the Australian Veterinary Association, Vet Nurses Council of Australia and Association of Pet Dog Trainers on a wide variety of dog behaviour and training topics, including canine body language, low stress handling in the vet clinic, creating the perfect puppy class, the power of play, the yellow dog project and the importance of dog park etiquette.

Ryder’s latest venture is the Canine Adventure Course concept, which saw her travel to the USA in 2016 to present at the Association of Professional Dog Trainers’ annual conference and to the United Kingdom in 2017 to present at The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers’annual conference. She is also a regular at many community events, presenting and demonstrating at the Perth Pet Expo, Doggy Day Out, Dog’s Breakfast, Barkfest and What Your Dog Wants You to Know seminars. She believes that raising community awareness on how dogs communicate and interact with each other, their owners and children is vital in ensuring our pet dogs are valued members of our community.

Ryder’s two border terriers, Wicket and Malani, are regular presenters too, helping out with low stress handling demonstrations and showing off their tricks, agility moves and fun training games.
