Bob  Bailey, Sc.D.

Bob Bailey, Sc.D., is a biologist, chemist, and animal trainer. In 1962 Bob became the Director of Training for the US Navy Marine Mammal Program and was a pioneer in at-sea applications of marine mammals. His training methodology, which began in the 1950s with behavior modification, was based on the writings of B. F. Skinner and Keller and Marian Breland of Animal Behavior Enterprises (ABE). Dr. Bailey joined ABE in 1965 and became its operational head in 1969. ABE directed the training of more than 140 different species, totaling more than 15,000 animals. Bob continues consulting and teaching worldwide today.
