Martin Butts is a local food advocate, entrepreneur, writer, speaker, and the founder of Small Potatoes, a boutique consulting firm that specializes in working with independent businesses of all kinds to develop fair and sustainable food systems and healthier communities. He has previously served as the Director of Syracuse University's Community Test Kitchen and as the Community Education and Outreach Coordinator for Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York.
Butts has spoken at conferences and summits around the country, including at TEDxUtica, as well as at universities, community centers, grocery stores, private homes, city parks, and on stairways and wooden crates. He has worked with food producers, farmers, restaurants, retailers, distributors, nonprofits, colleges, and consumers, and on advisory councils for fair trade standards, retail food co-ops, and a localist campaign.
