Dr McGrattan is a post-doctoral research associate and dietitian based at Newcastle University, UK. Her research interests are focused on the role of diet in the prevention of non-communicable diseases, with a specific interest in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Her research experience involves the examination of nutritional components and dietary patterns in relation to disease risk and the development and evaluation of interventions to promote dietary behaviour change and improve health. Currently, Dr McGrattan is working on a Global Health Dementia Prevention and Enhanced Care Project (DePEC) implementing a mixed-methods, feasibility study to understand the acceptability and the potential to deliver a dietary intervention among Malaysian older adults with raised blood pressure.
