Libby Massey

Libby Massey is a co-founder of the Machado-Joseph Disease Foundation (MJDF) and its current Director, Research and Education. She has more than 30 years of personal and professional association with families living with Machado-Joseph disease (MJD) on Groote Eylandt and has worked extensively with Anindilyakwa, Yolngu and Yugal Mangi families.   Libby is responsible for ensuring that the MJDF genetic care, education and research programs reflect the expressed requirements of families living with MJD. 

Libby holds an adjunct lecturer position at James Cook University, and is undertaking a PhD investigating the relevance of assisted reproductive technology for Aboriginal families experiencing MJD.
