Nicole Corley is the winner of the QSR-IIQM Research Grant for Early Career Researchers. This $25,000 grant will support Nicole's research over two years. Nicole Corley is an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work. Her research primarily focuses on the experiences of Black mothers and Black students from mother-centered/led households. By collaborating with Black mothers and centering their stories through arts-based methodologies, Nicole aims to broaden and deepen what we think we know about Black motherhood, while also disrupting the false narratives frequently associated with Black mothers.
