Ana Francisca Monteiro is a qualitative researcher studying the role of new technologies in children’s lives, its risks and opportunities, in both informal and formal settings. She obtained her PhD in Child Studies - Information Technology and Communication at University of Minho, Institute of Education, in 2014. Her research career began in 2007, as a PhD scholar funded by Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Portugal. She currently works as a junior researcher at Research Center in Education (CIEd-UMinho), where she studies the integration of programming and robotics in basic education. She holds a degree in Communication Sciences, specialization in Journalism and Public Relations.
