Mike Thornton has over twenty years’ experience in public sector procurement. The last fourteen years have been spent with the City of Leesburg as Purchasing Manager. In his current position Mike is a working manager handling all aspects of the procurement process as well as the necessary managerial functions. Mike has completed all types of acquisitions with the largest being a $20 million contract for an Automated Meter Infrastructure system for the electric department. Prior to his position at the City of Leesburg, Mike spent seven years in the Technology Sector working in software development, product management, systems implementations, and client training. Mikes time in the IT Sector allowed him to work with hundreds of government agencies in their implementation, training, and use of procurement, accounting, fleet and work management software.
