Debra Pierce

The presenter has over 20 years experience working directly with young children and has been a professor of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. She has an degrees in Early Childhood Education. She has done considerable research into the topic of mental illness in young children in child care and is keenly interested in helping early care and education providers pay attention to the subtle indicators they may be seeing in their classrooms every day. This topic is studied in several college courses that is taught by the presenter. The presenter has a child with a mental illness that was overlooked and misunderstood. She has a deep understanding of the increasing scope of this issue and the critical importance of early intervention.
