Matt Etre

Matt is Harvard’s Associate Director of International Safety & Security, where he and his team support Harvard’s international travel community by providing safety, security, and response services and advice. He also leads the University’s International Emergency Management Team. Matt is an experienced law enforcement professional with more than three decades of service in the federal government. Prior to joining Harvard, Matt was the Special Agent in Charge for U.S. Homeland Security Investigations for the New England region. As the agent in charge, Matt was designated twice by the Secretary of Homeland Security as the Federal Security Coordinator for the annual July 3rd and 4th Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. Internationally, Matt completed assignments as the Attaché in London and as an Assistant Attaché in Rome, focusing his work on national security, public safety, and cross-border crime matters.
