Louise A. Sclafani, OD, FAAO

Louise A. Sclafani, OD, FAAO, a 1989 alumnus of ICO, began her career at the University of Chicago in 1993 where she has been an Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Optometric Services. Her main interests include specialty contact lenses, corneal disease, dry eye, aesthetic eye care, glaucoma and corneal surgery co-management. She is a frequent lecturer, author and industry consultant in these areas. She was awarded the status of Diplomate by the American Academy of Optometry in the Cornea and Contact Lens and Refractive Technology section. She is an advocate for the profession and has earned numerous awards and positions including Chair of the AOA Cornea and Contact Lens Section, President of the Illinois Optometric Association, President of Women of Vision, and IOA Optometrist of the Year.
