Agustin Gonzalez, OD, FAAO

Graduated in 1987 as a doctor of Optometry from Inter American University school of Optometry and recipient of the Bausch & Lomb research award, he started working as a faculty member at his alma matter where he later became Dean of Clinical affairs at IAU.

Dr. Agustin L. Gonzalez currently practices as a Texas Licensed Optometrist in the Dallas area specializing in Medical Optometry with primary interest in ocular surface, cornea and conjunctival disorders and a special interest in Visual Evoked Potentials. Born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico, he studied at Jacksonville University in Florida where he received a B.A. in Biology.

His interest in social media and internet based marketing lead him to serves as part of the editorial staff for Primary Care Optometry News as editor of the Social Media and the OD column. He is a recognized ophthalmic industry expert in the patterns of adoption and usage of ophthalmic medications by optometrist and a well known promotional speaker on various ophthalmic medications.

As a CME speaker and ophthalmic pharmaceutical consultant, he has lectured extensively to optometry, medical and other health care groups in the United States and South America, presented scientific posters at mayor optometry meetings and authored multiple peered reviewed articles in scientific and education publications

A COPE lecture and reviewer, Dr Gonzalez was the recipient of Inter American University school of Optometry Alumni of the year award and holds an Adjunct Faculty member position with IAU School of Optometry.
