DESCRIPTION:Eating disorders (EDs) are characterized by intense anxiety and the presence of ritualized, anxiety-reducing behaviors. This presentation appears very similar to the usual presentation of OCD, making it challenging for therapists to identify and manage these two disorders when a patient presents with features of both conditions. This virtual workshop will help therapists accurately identify EDs and learn ways to effectively implement ERP with patients who also have an ED.
Learning Objectives
~ Attendees will be able to identify at least one way to differentiate between OCD and an eating disorder.
~ Attendees will be able to identify at least two interventions to effectively deliver ERP to patients with OCD and an eating disorder.
~ Attendees will identify at least one way support people can help sufferers with OCD and an eating disorder.
