The Department of Education's

2022 VIRTUAL CYBERSECURITY SYMPOSIUM

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Now in its 18th year, this collaborative effort between government and industry is used to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Information Assurance Services is hosting a virtual Cybersecurity Symposium. Conducted each Thursday throughout October, this year's theme is “Get InvolvED and #BeCyberSmart." This event includes speaker presentations from OCIO personnel, as well as from other Federal agencies and members of industry, a chat lounge to allow attendees to network, and a vendor exhibit hall. Speakers will address a variety of exciting topics including Zero Trust, Trusted Internet Connections, cloud security, ransomware, phishing, threat intelligence, supply chain risk management, and much more. This month-long event will conclude with the Department of Education Cybersecurity Excellence Award Ceremony on October 27, 2022.

Registration opens September 26, 2022 and continues through October 27, 2022. Please use the Chrome browser for registration and for attending the sessions.

The goal of the Symposium is to develop the Department's cybersecurity workforce and increase cybersecurity awareness.  By attending one or more of these sessions, Department employees and contractors learn about current cybersecurity threats, recognize how these threats may impact employees and contractors at work or at home, and identify actions which can be taken to manage cybersecurity risk. You're encouraged to #GetInvolvED in this event and its numerous resources to help stay informed and #BeCyberSmart.

These speaker sessions are available via this online conference platform. After the initial presentation, speaker recordings are available on demand through-out the month and presentation materials are available for download.
