Lynn Holdheide

American Institutes for Research (AIR)

Lynn Holdheide, Ph.D., is a principal TA consultant at American Institutes for Research (AIR) with more than 10 years of experience in providing responsive TA of the highest quality to State educational agencies (SEAs) and regional comprehensive centers. Currently, she leads the Center on Great Teachers and Leaders at AIR as well as the Education Policy Center at AIR. In her previous role as a Vanderbilt University research associate for the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality, she spearheaded efforts to address the pressing challenges in evaluating teachers of students with special needs and served as a reviewer of the U.S. Department of Education’s Elementary and Secondary Education Act flexibility waiver applications in 2012. She also coordinated the TQ Connection, an online resource designed to serve both general and special education teacher preparation. With experience as a special education teacher, project coordinator, and education consultant for nine years at the Indiana Department of Education’s Division of Exceptional Learners, Ms. Holdheide is sensitive to the needs of teachers of students with disabilities and has a deep understanding of the challenges that SEAs face in education reform.

He has worked in a broad range of areas including virtualization, systems management, security, identity management, email systems, directory systems, IT management, and IT process and methodology development for large organizations.

 Mel Beckman is a Senior Technical Director for Penton Media, publishers of Windows IT Pro and Power IT Pro  magazines, and president of Beckman Software Engineering, a technical consultancy specializing in large-scale, high-bandwidth application hosting networks. He has written extensively about information technology, and has presented seminars on software and network engineering throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Mel has received numerous writing awards, including the Excellence and Distinguished Technical Communication awards from the Society for Technical Communication. His past clients include Apple Computer, DuPont Displays, IBM, Loral Federal Systems, United Airlines, the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Defense, and Energy.

Paul Gavin

Product Manager, Industry Standard Servers marketing - Paul has worked for HP in a variety of positions including Systems Engineering, Product Marketing and Management and is responsible for identifying and helping to develop joint HP and Microsoft solutions. Paul has given presentations at many conferences for HP including Techforum, Microsoft Management Summit and World Wide Partner Conference
