7/14/2020 10:30 AM -to- 10:55 AM Okta: Modernizing Citizen Experiences with Cloud Identity
Keith Casey

  •
Citizens expect government agencies to meet them on their terms, and today that means a quality customer experience (CX) that’s digital, seamless and unfolds on any channel, device or platform they choose. More importantly, customers also expect their business with agencies to be private and secure. Agencies that can’t meet these demands risk losing citizens’ confidence and trust, but developing secure, frictionless CX is easier said than done. Fortunately, modern, cloud customer identity and access management (CIAM) can help improve the citizen experience and build trust in your solution. This session will explore how agencies can strengthen their CIAM strategy.

7/14/2020 12:00 PM -to- 12:25 PM Appian: How to achieve hyper-automation to modernize IT and keeping your workforce safe
Natalie Carey
Legacy systems lack the capabilities that agencies need to transform complex enterprise applications and business processes with AI, ML, RPA, workflow, and other automation technologies. Natalie Carey, Director of Appian's Federal Civilian Practice, will discuss how a full-stack automation platform addresses unique federal workforce safety, IT modernization, and application integration needs.

In this session, you will learn how to achieve hyper-automation to accelerate IT modernization in your organization and how low-code and intelligent automation technologies are enabling the USDA and other federal agencies to modernize mission-critical systems.

7/14/2020 12:30 PM -to- 1:00 PM SolarWinds: Improving IT Security for Remote Users During COVID-19 Pandemic
Richard Roberts
COVID-19 has changed how agencies run their business and IT operations, dramatically expanding the demand for teleworking and remote access to data and systems. This demand has created significant challenges for IT operations because issues must be resolved and supported quickly, but without sacrificing security.

Challenges range from troubleshooting and security monitoring to remote user support and device configuration. Troubleshooting can be difficult without visibility and a solid understanding of your infrastructure and device dependencies. Security monitoring requires normalizing logs and sifting through significant quantities of data. Remote users may need help updating software or security certificates. Managing configuration changes can be time-consuming and can introduce security risks if not done correctly.

What can USDA do to help resolve these issues?

Performance monitoring solutions provide full-stack visibility of your infrastructure and applications, helping monitor capacity and performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot infrastructure and VPN performance.

Log management tools can provide continuous monitoring and automate responses to threats; they can also audit devices for compliance and provide reporting.
  • IT support and remote access solutions improve service delivery and enable remote support and administration.
  • Configuration tools can support firmware upgrades, network configuration compliance, and system monitoring.
